Abstract
Stable isotope ratios of carbon (d13C) and nitrogen (d15N) in parts per thousand and elemental carbon and nitrogen content (wt %) of particulate organic matter collected from surface (0-1 cm) sediments using a boxcorer. A replicate of each sediment samples was acidified with 1M hydrochloric acid and rinsed and re-dried prior analysis to remove inorganic carbon. For isotopic ratios of sediments, the d13C and % carbon values correspond to the acidified sample replicate while the d15N and % nitrogen values correspond to the non-acidified sample replicate. All samples were analzed for isotopic and elemental composition of carbon and nitrogen using an Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer at the CLIPT lab at the University of Oslo.
