As a part of “the Nansen Legacy Project” (NL), a set of 6 moorings distributed in 2 arrays were deployed across the continental slope, north of Svalbard. The observations cover a 12 to 14-month period from September 2018 to September or November 2019. A western array (moorings W1 to W3) was approximately along 18E30, covering from approximately 400 m to 1200 m isobaths. An eastern array (moorings E1 to E3) was approximately along 24E, covering from approximately 300 m to 1200 m isobaths. One netCDF file per mooring is provided: NL_E1.nc NL_E2.nc NL_E3.nc NL_W1.nc NL_W2.nc NL_W3.nc All time series are averaged into a common, uniform 1-hour resolution time stamp. Details on the data processing, mooring drawings and a detailed list of instrumentation are provided in the attached report (Koenig et al., 2022, https://doi.org/10.21335/NMDC-1075977612). Each file has a brief summary and comments related to the corresponding mooring. Two sets of hourly-averaged time series of temperature, salinity and horizontal currents are provided. One set is 10-m vertically gridded (interpolated) after mooring motion correction. The second set as time series at time-variable measurement level because of mooring motion. See the variable names for details. The Nansen Legacy was supported by the Research Council of Norway (project number 276730).
