Abstract
This dataset is a collection of the acid-corrected chlorophyll A and phaeopigments measurements taken as part of the Nansen Legacy project (www.arvenetternansen.com), during the 2022 Winter gaps JC3 cruise. The data are from sea ice from station at P5 (NLEG13). Sea ice sampled with Kovacs corer on 2022-02-27T12:00:00Z at 33.9812°E and 80.6865°N. Sea ice cores were sectioned (water-ice interface 0-3cm, 3-10cm, 10-20cm, 20-30cm, 30-50cm, 50-top, etc. top-air interface) and for the lowermost 50 cm of the cores the matching segments of five ice cores were pooled for chlorophyll A and other parameters. All sea-ice core sections were melted in the dark and at 4 deg. C within 24–28 h, and 100 ml filtered seawater (<0.22 µm) was initially added per 1 cm section to reduce negative impacts related to osmotic stress. Measurements were corrected towards melted volume of ice as well as filtered seawater added. The values have been flipped around - so 0 is air-ice surface, and positive values mean increasing depth. Two concentrations of corrected chlorophyll A and phaeopigments are given if available: 1) total Chlorophyll A and 2) > 10µm .
