An eco-physiological model coupled with an ecosystem model, is used to simulate large scale blue mussel (Mytilus edulis) farming production and effects on the basis of the food web in the mesotrophic Hardangerfjord in Western Norway. Several levels of farming intensity is tested and assessed for two production purposes: aquafeed and human consumption.
