This dataset contains sanitized public bottom-trawl survey records used in redfish survey indices by Vihtakari et al. (2026). It includes station-level catch and effort data, length-group-resolved catch data, and cruise-level summaries for beaked redfish (Sebastes mentella), golden redfish (Sebastes norvegicus), and unidentified redfish (Sebastes spp.) from Institute of Marine Research scientific surveys and historical SPD files in the Barents Sea, Norwegian Sea, and Norwegian coastal and shelf waters. Variables include survey and cruise identifiers, vessel information, haul timing, position, bottom depth, gear, trawling distance, catch biomass and count, swept-area biomass and abundance densities, length groups, and source indicators. The public dataset has been spatially filtered to stations within the study area polygon and excludes Russian EEZ data. It is intended for reproducible demonstration of redfish survey index data preparation and spatiotemporal model workflows, not as a faithful reconstruction of restricted manuscript-era results.
