The data is a compilation of data from bottom trawls taken at several surveys with different methods and purposes. Over time, the sampling gear, sampling methods, survey design and survey coverage of these surveys have changed. The data may contain errors. The catches from May 2020 in the Norwegian sea are taken by pelagic trawls. The data set is not suited for biodiversity studies. The species identification has improved over time, with improved identification keys and training of staff. In earlier years, non-commercial fishes were often discarded without being recorded.
